Le Grand Picnic Goes the Distance!

Lake Arrowhead, May 22, 2024 –

Help the hospital Go the Distance at the 30th annual Le Grand Picnic fundraiser to support Mountains Community Hospital. This year’s Field of Dreams-themed event is on Sunday, July 21st, in the hospital’s rose garden from 5:30-8:00 pm. The money raised at Le Grand Picnic helps us respond to the hospital’s most pressing needs.

75% of the hospital’s revenue comes from Medi-Cal and Medicare, and these government programs don’t reimburse the hospital for all of its costs. We rely on donations to help make improvements and keep pace with technology. Thanks to our generous donors we have state-of-the-art equipment!

Le Grand Picnic is the hospital’s signature event and attended by 350 people. It features amazing silent and live auction items from local businesses and community members, entertainment, food and drink, and a raffle for a gold coin worth $2,000. There will even be a special appearance by the award-winning Crestline Highlanders vintage baseball team.

Tickets are $100, and sponsorship opportunities start at $500 and include a yard sign with your name or logo. Early bird pricing is in effect until June 30th. This event sells out, so get your tickets before they’re outta here! Visit www.mchcares.com to learn more and purchase tickets and sponsorships.

“Our volunteers and staff have been working incredibly hard to make this event our best one yet, and we can’t wait for you to experience it. We hope you and your friends will join us on July 21st as we celebrate all that our generous community has done to keep high-quality healthcare in our community,” says Kim McGuire, Foundation Director.

Once again, this year’s emcee is Lake Arrowhead local Robbin Nordsten. Both a live performer and studio singer, Robbin has been an active member of the music industry for 40 years. Whether performing live in and around Los Angeles, entertaining at the MGM Grand Hotel, working in-studio with various recording artists, doing voiceovers for commercials, or developing her signature Snuggle Bear voice, Robbin enjoys it all. While amid her entertainment career, Robbin got her M.A. in Education. A motivational speaker for teens, laughingly, she states, “It doesn’t matter whether it’s theater, live performances, or talking to teens…the need is the same. Bring enthusiasm, your talent, see your audience, and read the room.”

The only other person we know who can match Robbin’s enthusiasm is Suzanne Cios Krainock, M.S., BAS, CAI. This will be Suzanne’s third time as our auctioneer, and she helped us raise more money than ever! She is CEO and Founder of Inspired Benefit Auctions and is one of the most sought-after auctioneers in the country. Suzanne has a wealth of experience in nonprofit fundraising as she was the Chief Development Officer for a national nonprofit organization for several years. Suzanne also spent time as an actress and several years in theater. The best part – she is a Running Springs local!
